WHO WE ARE

The North American Wood Pole Council is a federation of three organizations representing the wood preserving industry in the U.S. and Canada.

  • POLE MATERIALS

Most utility poles are made of wood, pressure-treated with some type of preservative for protection against rot, fungi and insects.

  • POWER DISTRIBUTION

On poles carrying both electrical and communications wiring, the electric power distribution lines and associated equipment

  • COMMUNICATION CABLE

The communications cables are attached below the electric power lines, in a vertical space along the pole designated the communications space.
